Graphic...Rated PG13 material, so if you have a queasy stomach don't look!

So the past few weeks have been difficult for our family, especially Justin. The Sunday after Thanksgiving he walked out of my sister's house and slipped on the icy stairs and went up in the air and landed on his back. The small of his back and right between the shoulder blades. We went to the doctor a few days later and this is what he looked like...

Then a few days after that we went to get an x-ray and he looked like this...and actually it got worse than this. It wrapped around his belly around front. It was very disturbing to look at, like someone took a baseball bat to his back.

So after the x-ray the doctor suggested that he see a spinal specialist but that she didn't really see anything wrong. Breathe...then after another week of not getting better he went to see the specialist. He said he thought there was something broken and ordered another set of x-rays and an MRI. So while driving home from the MRI place yesterday this happened...

ARRGGHHHH! He feels like screaming and so do I. Could things get any worse? Well, yes. They put him on temporary disability at work until he can return at 100% workablility. We aren't sure when that will be. After 4 weeks he goes down to 60% salary...yikes! We are hoping and praying for the best! What else could possibly go wrong? Well, I ran out of gas today and I thought I was going to have a coronary until I realized it was just an empty tank. Exhale!

Oh. My. Goodness. Is he in a lot of pain? It looks very painful.
As for the car....I'm hoping, from the picture, that the accident was NOT his fault at least.
We'll be praying for you guys. I hope he heals quickly and gets back to work.

Wow! I showed all the boys and their faces were a mix of yikes. I am so sorry about all this right now. It seems like a lot and we are keeping your family in our prayers. Hopefully the insurance of the other guy will take care of the car although it is always a pain to schedule the repairs.

That looks horrible. I'm so sorry. I hope everything turns out alright, back injuries are scary.

We miss you and wish we could see you for Christmas.

Lovely! Don't you just love moments, days, weeks like that! I hope Justin is better and able to go back to work.
We were in your neck of the woods for Thanksgiving (in laws live in saratoga springs too!). It was such a short trip (Thursday-Saturday) we only did family, but next trip we will have to get together.
Hope your week is a better
